John Stephen Neal (1870–1943)

The death occurred in the Grenfell Hospital on 24th December, of Mr. John Stephen Neal, of Greenethorpe, a member of a family of long residence in the district and for many years butcher on the Iandra Estate, and later at Greenethorpe.

Deceased was 73 years of age, and leaves a widow and grown up family of five sons and three daughters: Messrs. W. Neal (Sydney), Elwood Neal (Greenethorpe), Victor Neal (Iandra), Leslie Neal (A.I.F.), Clarrie Neal (prisoner of war in Borneo), Mrs. W. Hodder (Cowra), Mrs. B. Troth (Greenethorpe), Mrs. M. Godden (Greenethorpe).

The funeral on Christmas Day was to the Church of England cemetery following a service in Holy Trinity, Rev. H. T. Genge (Koorawatha) officiating at the services.
