Jane Neal (1845–1911)

As reported in our last issue, Mrs. John Neal, relict of the late Mr. John Neal, died on Tuesday morning at the age of 66 years; since the death of her husband in October last, the deceased lady had not been enjoying good health, and although fairly well at times, never fully recovered her former strength, and passed away at 2 o'clock on the morning stated, a large family being left to mourn a double loss; the surviving children are Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. Jack Barrett, Mrs. Frank Pearson, Mrs. Geo. Rumble, Mrs. Val. Bailey, and Mrs. Elsie and Ivy Neal, the sons being Messrs. Jack Neal (Iandra), Walter Neal (Cowra), and Fred. Neal (Greenethorpe). Deceased lady was born at Calcutta, coming to this country at the age of eight years; after living in Sydney for some time she went to Marengo, at which place she was married, afterwards taking up residence at Brundah Creek, and at Ryewood, Cowra-road, coming into town about four years ago. A very large number of relatives live in the Grenfell district and surrounding towns. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, being largely attended; Mr. F. J. Winn officiated at the grave, and Mr. W. R. Pearson had charge of the funeral arrangements.
