Valentine Bailey (1884–1947)

The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Valentine Bailey, who was born at Grenfell 62 years ago, his father — Mr. Henry Bailey, senr., now approaching 90 years of age — having resided here since the early days of the gold mining era.

The late Mr. Bailey had been ailing for about two years.

He married Miss Nellie Neal, who survives him, as well as a family of seven — Claude, Valentine, Norman, Allan, Mrs. Negus (Cowra), Mrs. Jack Sawyer (Grenfell), Mrs. Rusby (Griffith).

The funeral on Wednesday afternoon was from the parlours, Rev. A. S. Rowe taking the services.

Many district families were represented at the funeral, and numerous wreaths were forwarded.
