Campbell Joseph (Cam) Whalan (1843–1915)

from Lithgow Mercury

Mr. Campbell Joseph Whalan, of Jenolan Caves, died at the Royal Hotel on Friday night. Mr. Whalan had attended the show, and appeared to be in his usual health when he went to bed. Mrs. Whalan, who was with him, was speaking to him at 3 o'clock in the morning, and he passed away shortly afterwards. He was 71 years of age, and a native of the district, where he has resided all his life. He was much respected and has left a wife and four sons, to whom the sympathy of the district is extended.

EDITH Saturday.
General regret was expressed on all sides when it became known that Mr. C. J. Whalan, of Jenolan, passed away at the Royal Hotel early on Saturday morning, at the age of 71 years. Death was due to heart failure.
