John Lucas (1836–1916)

Mr. John Lucas, aged 80 years, and a resident of Shepparton for 26 years died on Friday evening at the residence of his son at Tatura. The deceased, who was very popular, and a native of Tasmania, leaves a grown-up family of two sons (one of whom is at the war) and three daughters (married). The funeral took place at the Shepparton cemetery yesterday afternoon, Mr. A. Ballinger (Anglican lay reader), conducting the service. Mr. W. F. Bowen carried out the mortuary arrangements.
