George Hamersley (1853–1932)

The death occurred recently at Georgina of Mr. George Hamersley, at the age of 79 years. Deceased was the son of the late Mr. Edward Hamersley, B.A., who settled at Pyrton, near Guildford, in the early 'thirties. The deceased was at one time interested in farming pursuits in the Beverley district and, later, with the late Mr. Charles Brockman helped to pioneer the Gascoyne. Then, after assisting his mother in the management of Pyrton, he settled at Georgina. He was also interested in mining being a partner in the old Mt. Magnet mine. He leaves a widow and several children. The funeral took place at the new cemetery at Utakarra, Geraldton.
