John Ross (1846–1929)

Mr. John Ross, of Kinross, Holbrook, aged 83, of the well-known Ross family of pastoralists, and the father of Mr. John Ross, Jun., M.L.A., for Albury in that State Parliament, died at Kinross yesterday morning. The Ross brothers, Alexander, John, James, William, and Robert were partners in various stations for a great number of years, and of the family only Mr. Robert Ross now remains. The late Mr. John Ross married Miss Emily White, daughter of the late Mr. H. C. White, of Havilah Station, Mudgee, who survives her husband. They had a large family of five sons and three daughters. Prior to subdividing their properties some years ago, the Ross brothers were interested in the following stations: —Kinross, Hillside, Rosslyn, Clifton, Uri Park, Garangula, and Ardersier.
