The death of Mr. William Maley, I.S.O. occurred at his residence, Unley, on Sunday afternoon. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, on September 9, 1829. As a young man Mr. Maley did pioneering work in Western Australia. He married early in 1851, and soon afterwards removed to South Australia. For more than 40 years he was well known in connection with postal matters. Mr. Maley retired from the service at the age of 76 years. He was intimately associated with the Pirie Street Methodist Church for more than 60 years, was one of the founders of the Rechabite order in South Australia, and was also a prominent Oddfellow. The family consists of three sons—Messrs. C. (Aldgate), J. B. (Angaston), and E. T. Maley (Broken Hill) —and three daughters—Mrs. C. W. Lewis and Misses E. C. and L. Maley, of Unley. Mrs. Maley died 11 years ago.
