George Hill (1802–1883)

Mr. George Hill, one of the oldest residents in the colony, died at his residence, Durham Hall, Surry Hills, at the advanced age of 83. He was Mayor of Sydney no less than three times, and was one of the first members nominated by the Donaldson Ministry to sit in the Upper House. He had been a justice of the peace over 50 rears. One of his daughters is married to Sir Daniel Cooper. He was injured by a tram accident some weeks ago.
