Henry Watson Powell (1847–1915)

News was received by the last English mail of the death from bronchial pneunomia of Mr. Henry Watson Powell, formerly a well-known resident of this district, on May 9th, at the Chase Clapham Common, London. Mr. Powell leaves four sons all of whom are at or on their way to the front, namely, Eric Watson Powell, Australian Lighthorse, Patrick Banden Powell, Staffordshire Reinforcement, Lancelot Kay Powell, 1st Lieutenant Bengal Lancers, and Randolph Powell, Captain Seaforth Highlanders. Two married daughters also survive, Mrs. Una Uphill. wife of the manager of the London Chartered Bank, Cromwell Road, Kensington, and Mrs. Muriel Robertson of Tamworth.
