Milo Mulchra Pegler (1888–1953)

Mr Milo Pegler collapsed and died at Llanrheidol (Winton) yesterday morning. He was 68 years of age and is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs A. Walker, of Boyrgenna (Augathella) and Mrs T. F. Mitchell, Winton. He was one of the best known and widely respected station managers in North Queensland.

Before coming north, he was overseer and manager of Barcaldine Downs for 15 years and then manager of Hamilton Downs (Kynuna), and later - for two years manager of Conamore (Corfield). He then went to Sesbania (Corfield), where he remained for 20 years till the lease expired and the country was resumed. His next move was to Llanrheidol; where he had been manager for the last three years.

He was a member of a pioneering family of the south-west who were associated in the early days with Milo station and was a brother of Mr Charles Pegler (Blackall).
