Annie Neary (?–1954)

The death took place in Cairns yesterday afternoon of Miss Annie Neary. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. J. Neary, well known identities of Cairns in the early days, and was born in Herberton, coming to Cairns as a child. She received her education at St. Monica's school, and has lived all of her life in Cairns, having spent many years on the staff of Adair's silk store. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. M. R.. Spowart of Cairns; two brothers, Messrs. J. P. Neary, Cairns, and C. J. Neary of Edmonton.

One brother, John died some years ago. Requiem Mass will be offered in St. Monica's Cathedral this morning at 6.30 o'clock, and the funeral will move from the Cathedral at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
