Malcolm John Norman McAskill, 32, laborer, of Woodville, was found dead in a vacant allotment in Woodville road, Woodville, shortly after 3.30 p.m. yesterday. Alongside the body was a piece of wrapping paper labelled "poison." There were no marks of violence on the dead man, and the police suspect that he committed suicide.
McAskill, who was unemployed, had been living with his sister, Mrs. Jamieson, of Percy street. Franklin. He left the house on Thursday and was not seen alive again.
Constable Day, of Woodville, is preparing a report for the coroner.
