Walter Herbert Mayne (1878–1933)

Word has been received in Dirranbandi of the sudden death from heart failure of Mr. Walter Herbert Colburn Mayne, grazier, of Guee, Dirranbandi, while on a health trip to Sydney. The late Mr. Mayne was the second son of the late William C. Mayne, formerly owner of Ghinghinda station, Taroom. He married Miss Millie Devine, daughter of Mr. Phillip Devine, who was at one time part owner of Cockatoo Creek station, Taroom. The late Mr. Mayne was a prominent member of the Dirranbandi branch of the Maranoa Graziers' Association. He leaves a widow and one son, Mr. W. H. C. Mayne, Jun., of Mauro, Texas.
