Helena Maria Lett (1828–1880)

Death has been very busy amongst us during the past fortnight, no less than five having gone to that "bourne from whence no traveller returns" during that time three being old and respected residents of the district, viz., Mrs. Lett, mother of our worthy Police Magistrate's Lady, Mrs. Middleton, Mr. Michael Martin of Miller's Forest, a respected resident of the place, and Mr. C. Chapman, of this town, the other two being children belonging to Mr. Lynch, teacher of the R. C. Sphool, and Mr. John Barnes respectfully.
