Mr. William Joseph Larkin, of Hordern street, Newtown passed peacefully away on Monday morning last in his sixty-second year. The deceased gentleman had for a number of years been prominent in all Catholic movements in the Camperdown parish till his business necessitated lengthly visits to the country. About three months ago he returned to Sydney in a rather weak state of health, and slowly declining he breathed his last on the Feast of the Epiphany, surrounded by his wife, four sons, and only daughter, together with his mother, two sisters, and two brothers. His two eldest sons are prominent members of St. Joseph's (Newtown), Literary and Debating Society, and of the Irish Rifles. During his illness Mr. Larkin received much spiritual consolation from the devoted attention of Rev. Father Dowling, of St. Joseph's, Newtown.
