from Hawkesbury Herald
We are sorry to have to record the sudden death yesterday of Mr. John Johnston, of Pitt Town, one of our best known and most highly respected and successful farmers. Mr. Johnston, whilst out on his farm yesterday morning, had an apopletic seizure. He was carried to his home, and Dr. Gibson was sent for, but he never rallied, and in a couple of hours was gone. It was a great shock to the family, and to his numerous relatives and friends, and much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved. Deceased was 66 years of age, and leaves a wife and family of eight–Misses Elizabeth, Sarah and Rubie, and Messrs. A. G., W. H., Ebenezer, Matthew and Ernest. He was brother to Messrs. W. H. (deceased), G. T. (deceased), J. H., Misses Georgina and Louisa, and Mesdames W. Beard and G. S. Greenwell (Windsor), John Walmsley (Wollombi), and James J. Jurd, sen. (St. Albans).
