We very much regret to announce the death of Mrs. Norah V. Green, a daughter of the late Mr. Peter Glover of this town. Deceased was a charitable and kindly lady, and much sympathy is felt for Mr. Green and family in their bereavement. We also express the general feeling in sympathising with Mrs. Glover, her mother, who is at present a resident of Kilmore. The Freeman's Journal, Sydney, under date 24th Feb., thus refers to Mrs. Green's demise:—"On Saturday morning a Solemn Requiem Mass was offered at St. Kieran's Church for the repose of the soul of the late Mrs. Green, wife of Mr. Peter Green, who had been a resident of Darlington for the past 6 years. The Rev. J. Carroll was the celebrant and preacher. Father Carroll spoke of the good and useful work of the deceased, who during life had worthily occupied the position of lady president of the ladies' branch of the Sacred Heart Association. The rev. father also feelingly alluded to the great assistance which the late Mrs. Green gave to all movements in connection with the Church, and concluded by exhorting the very large congregation to pray for the repose of her soul. In the afternoon a large gathering of people again assembled at the church, from which place the funeral moved at 2 o'clock to the Mortuary station, thence to Rookwood cemetery. The procession, comprising about 60 private and public vehicles, was preceded by a carriage containing the Rev. Frs. Carroll and Baugh. Mr. Peter Green (who is President of the Men's Branch of the Sacred Heart Association), his family and relatives, were the principal mourners, and many prominent residents of Sydney and suburbs attended to pay their last respects, including City Alderman Francis Buckle, Alderman J. Spring, J.P. (Mayor of Darlington), Alderman J. Roche (Redfern), and Alderman J. V. Moran (Darlington.) The Rev. Frs. Baugh and O'Reilly said the last prayers. The deceased was a daughter of Mr Peter Glover, of Kilmore, Victoria, and was in her 47th year. She passed away quietly at her residence, Wilson-street, on Thursday, 15th inst., leaving her sorrowful husband and large family to mourn their loss."
