Lynda Ellen Clode (1886–1946)

The death occurred in the Sacred Heart Hospital on Monday last of Lynda Ellen Clode, 60, of 'Wattle Vale,' Young.

Deceased had been in indifferent health for many months and this occasion was only a patient in hospital three weeks when death took place.

The late Miss Clode was a highly respected resident of Thuddungra and enjoyed a wide circle of friends which extended throughout the Bribbaree, Bimbi, Kikiamah and Thuddungra districts.

She was the second daughter of the late Mr. J. F. Clode and Mrs. Clode who is at present a patient in the Sacred Heart Hospital. She has two brothers, Viv (Thuddungra) and Jack ('Wattle Vale'), Bribbaree. Mrs. Wiseman of Bingara, is a sister. A sister, Kitty, pre-deceased her.

A Service was conducted in St. John's Church of England by Rev. A. Smith on Tuesday afternoon after which the cortege moved to the Young Cemetery where interment took place. Rev. Smith officiated at the graveside and (the pall-bearers were Messrs. Norman Carr and Keith McCallum, of Bribbaree; G. Knight (brother-in-law) Bimbi; and Tom McAlister, Young. A wreath from Loving Mother was lowered with the casket.
