Lewis Alexander Clarke (1864–1893)

The death is announced of Mr Lewis Clarke, of Norton Mandeville, Macquarie Plains, aged 42. Deceased took ill on Friday last, and despite the attentions of Dr. Butler, who was immediately summoned, he expired at 2 30 p.m. to-day, the cause of death being attributed to failure of the heart's action, He was a son of Mr Joseph Clarke, and much regret is expressed at his early demise. He was unmarried, and was well-known in sporting circles as owner of, amongst other horses, the steeple chaser Peter Flat.
