John Nicolson Archer (1882–1942)

Mr. John Nicolson Archer, of Brambletye, Conara, one of the best-known pastoralists and riders to hounds in Tasmania, died suddenly yesterday. He was a son of the late Mr. Daniel Archer, and leaves a wife and two children.

He owned After Dark, winner of many championships in the show ring in all parts of Tasmania, and other well-known hunters. He also was an exhibitor of sheep.

A prominent member of the Midland Hunt Club, he was Master of Hounds for many years.

The funeral will take place at Conara tomorrow.
