Winifred Grimwade (1872–1939)

Mrs Winifred Grimwade wife of Major-General Harold Grimwade of Marathon, Frankston, died after a long illness on Monday. The funeral took place privately in the Frankston Cemetery yesterday morning.

Mrs Grimwade was widely known for her charitable work. She was the eldest daughter of Mr John Thornton of Camperdown who was a member of the first Victorian cricket team which visited New South Wales. She leaves two sons and one daughter, Mrs T. C. Manifold of Camperdown.
