Mr. Francis James Mansergh Stanistreet, whose death at Melbourne on 23rd January was briefly recorded in these columns last month, was a well known station manager and grazier on his own account in Victoria. He commenced his activities in station management with the late Dr. H. L. Atkinson at Ravenswood Estate, Ravenswood, Vic., and later combined the northern property of Auchmore Estate, Raywood, Vic., under his supervision. He was associated with the late Dr. Atkinson and his son, Mr. E. L. Atkinson, for a period of 55 years.
Mr. Stanistreet, who was in his 80th year, retired from active station management in 1945 and then devoted his time to grazing pursuits on his own property, Loddon Plains, North Bridgewater, Vic. He was active as a sworn valuator and Justice of the Peace, and also took a keen interest in the affairs of the Graziers' Association of Victoria, being a past president of the Bendigo branch of that body. In addition, he was an excellent judge of livestock and was often called upon to officiate at agricultural shows.
The late Mr. Stanistreet is survived by his only daughter, Mrs. R. Harrison, of Yarrannore, Raywood, Vic.
