Smith, Alexander (1879–1935)

Mr. Alexander Smith, who died yesterday morning, was well known in the building trade. As a young man he was connected with Alex Smith, Ltd, of Balmain, Rozelle, and Drummoyne, founded by Mr Smith's uncle. About 20 years ago Mr. Smith, in conjunction with Mr. A. G. Keeler, founded the firm of Messrs. Alex. Smith and Keeler as suppliers of builders' and architects' requirements. Mr. Smith was a member of the Builders' Exchange and Tattersalls Club and belonged to the old Lancer Regiment. He was a member of Lodge Drummoyne, No 210, U.G.L. The funeral will leave his late residence in Waruda-avenue Huntley's Point, at 2 p.m. to- day, for the Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
