John Shanahan (1847–1885)

Mr. John Shanahan of Wabreccan station, Deniliquin, died suddenly last night of epilepsy. He was 32 years of age, and the partner of Sir Patrick Jennnings. He married a daughter of Sir John O'Shanassy, and leaves a widow and two children. The mortality in his family during the past year has been remarkable. His father, mother, two brothers, and a sister have all died within the past year. On Mrs. Shanahan's side Sir John O'Shanassy, two sons, and one daughter have died during the same period. The late Mr. Shanahan's possessions are estimated at from £100,000 to £250,000 sterling.
