Thomas Felix Ryan (?–1927)

The death occurred on 28th January of Mr. Thomas Felix Ryan at his residence, Tillock-street Haberfield. Mr. Ryan was an old and respected resident of Newtown and the father of that well known Rugby League footballer, Felix Ryan, who was a member of the last team of Kangaroos that, toured England. Mr. Ryan's wife predeceased him about four years ago and he leaves a grown-up family of four sons and seven daughters to mourn their loss. The remains were conveyed to St. Joan of Arc Church, Haberfield, and the funeral left the church the following morning for Waverley cemetery. The cortege was met at the cemetery gates by Rev. Father M. P. Kelly, who recited the last prayers in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends who had assembled to show a last mark of respect for the deceased. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr. W. N. Bull.
