Mrs. Bridget Ryan, one of the oldest parishioners of St. Joseph's, Newtown, and wife of Mr. Thomas F. Ryan, foreman of Rozelle Tramway Depot, died at her residence, station-street, Newtown, on the 5th inst. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality at St. Joseph's. The funeral took place at Waverley Cemetery on Thursday afternoon. Rev. Father Conaghan read the prayers at the house, and at the graveside. She left a family of four sons and four daughters, the eldest son being Mr. W. P. Ryan, stationmaster at Tenterfield; another, Felix Ryan, being the international footballer. The following were represented at the funeral: N.S.W. Rugby League, Newtown Football Club, Newtown Rugby League, Rozelle Depot, Tramway Department, University Students' Union, F. E. Bishops, Ltd., Riley Brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Nunn, Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Best, Mr. and Mrs. Les. Best, Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Higgs, J. C. Davies, Mr. and Mrs. De Saxe, M. L. Sleeman and family, Misses Reid Halcyon Club, Newtown, Mr. and Mrs. Foote, B. Hudson, H. Bains, Mr. and Mrs J. Carroll, Mr. and Miss McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Holman, Mr. and Mrs. Oppv, Mr. and Mrs. Cross, G. Bennett, P. Quinn/P. J. Rvan (Newcastle). Mr. W. N. Bull was the undertaker. Mass was offered up for her soul at St. Joseph's, Newtown, on Sunday, the 9th inst., which was attended by a large number of relatives. The deceased lady was a native of Morpeth, and by her kindly, genial and charitable disposition was highly esteemed, and loved by all who knew her. — R.I.P.
