George Alexander Roberts (1854–1901)

Through the North the death of Mr George Alexander Roberts, of the firm of Roberts, Leu, and Barnett, solicitors of Townsville, will come in the nature of a shock. Mr Roberts passed away on Thursday last, and it is no exaggeration to say that his apparently untimely decease is quite generally regretted. Mr Roberts was a brother of Mr Pring Roberts of the firm of Roberts and Roberts, solicitors of Brisbane. It is an interesting fact that both Mr Roberts (deceased) and his subsequent partner, Mr J. V. S. Barnett, were admitted as solicitors on the same date—15th September, 1876. Mr Roberts was held in high esteem in Townsville, where he resided, and where he leaves a widow and three children.
