John Patten (1901–1933)

The death occurred last night at the Victoria Hospital of Mr. John Patten, of Moonyoonooka. Deceased, who was 32 years of age, was the eldest son of the late Mr. Edgar Patten and had lived all his life in the district, being well known as a contractor. For the past two years he had not enjoyed good health, suffering from a heart affection. Becoming worse he was removed to the Victoria Hospital about ten days ago, and he passed away as stated. He leaves a widow and nine children, the youngest being about six years of age, to mourn their loss, and the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to them in their bereavement. The funeral took place this afternoon in the Anglican portion of Utakarra Cemetery, a large gathering of friends being present.
