
The death occurred in the Wagga District Hospital yesterday of Mr. Stapleton Minchin, eldest son of the late Mr. S. Minchin, of Wagga, from hemorrhage of the lungs. About a month ago he took ill, and serious symptoms developing he was removed to the hospital. The hemorrhage, however, became worse, and he was gradually sinking until the end. The deceased was 37 years of age, and was well known in his occupation as clerk to Messrs. J. Jeremy and Co. He was born in Wagga, where he lived practically all his life. He commenced his business career in the service of the Australian Joint Stock Bank, in which he remained for ten years, and was stationed at Wagga, and at the head office. He subsequently transferred to the Union Bank, in whose employ he remained for seven years, chiefly at station work, and for the last four years be was a member of the staff of Messrs. Jeremy and Co. He was particularly well known throughout the district, and was highly popular among a large circle of friends, to whom his death will come as a heavy loss. He always took a prominent interest in all sports and amusements, and was, in addition, a member of the Operatic Society and Masonic Lodge. The funeral will take place at 10.30 a.m. to-day, and at the wish of the deceased's relatives it will be of a semi private nature.
