Peter Herbert Metcalfe (1854–1913)

Dr. J. B. Metcalfe has received word of the death of his father (Dr. Peter Metcalfe), which sad event occurred on Saturday last, at Fanning Island, where he was relieving another medical man. The late Dr. Metcalfe, who was 58 years of age, had been Government Medical Officer and Deputy Chief Magistrate at Norfolk Island for the past 30 years, and resigned from the position three years ago on account of ill-health. Deceased leaves a widow, three sons, and two daughters. We extend our sympathy to Dr. Metcalfe in his sad bereavement.
