Anthony (Ant) Luchetti (1869–1942)

Mr. Anthony Luchetti, a resident of Blackheath for many years, died at the Anzac Memorial Hospital, Katoomba, last week-end. Referring to the deceased, Lithgow 'Mercury' states that he was one of the best known men in the Lithgow district. He was a former president of the Western Miners' Federation, a foundation member of the Workmen's Club and Co-operative Society, and a pioneer member of the Hartley District Eight Hour Committee. He was a native of Lowther. Ald. A. S. Luchetti, Mayor of Lithgow, who has contested elections for Hartely in the Labor interest, is a relative, as also are Mesdames Cullen and Evans of Blackheath.
