Leggett, George Thomas (1861–1941)

from Muswellbrook Chronicle

The death of Mr Thomas Leggett at his home in Goulburn on the 3rd January severed another link with the early pioneering days of the Merriwa district. Deceased, who was 80 years of age, was born at "Galla Gilla," and lived many years in the Merriwa district, in which he at one time owned land. He was well and favorably known, and many old residents of the district will learn with regret of his demise. Giving up the land, the late Mr. Leggett joined the Railway Department, and on retirement made his home in Goulburn. He is survived by his wife and a grown-up family. Mr. George Leggett (Merriwa) and his son, Jack, are relatives of deceased.
