George Colman Kelly (1861–1909)

Mr George C. Kelly, who for about two years was a member of the Prahran City Council, died at his residence, "Montalto," Orrong-rd., Toorak, on Monday, December 27th. The deceased gentleman had been ailing for some time, and it was on account of illness that he found it necessary to retire from the council. He was of a very quiet disposition, and was widely known and respected. Mr Kelly leaves a widow and family of two sons and one daughter. He was born in Deniliquin, N.S.W., and was a son of the late John Kelly, Police Magistrate, of the same place. The funeral took place on the following Wednesday, the place of interment being the Brighton cemetery. A large number of friends attended to pay their final respects, including the Mayor and councillors of Prahran.
