Stanley Gray (Stan) Jennings (1909–1961)

Forestry in Australia and in Queensland in particular has lost an outstanding figure with the passing of Stan [Stanley Gray] Jennings.

An ex-President of the Institute, Stan left his mark not only in the Districts with which he was most closely associated, — Dalby and Gympie, — but in his more recent care, Forest Products, Research Branch and in the affairs of the Queensland Professional Officers‘ Association.

As Senior Vice-President of the Union, Stan did much to secure the advancement of the Profession of Forestry in Queensland.

Those of us who were fortunate to be more closely associated with him have been inspired by his faith and determination during his recent illness and by his ultimate calm acceptance of the inevitable.
