George Thomas Hassall (1828–1910)

There died at Condobolin, on 22ult., George Thomas Hassall, second son of the late Rev. Thomas Hassall, of Cobbitty and Narellan in his 82nd year. With the exception of the eldest son, Rev James Samuel Hassall, who died at Corinda, near Brisbane, about six years ago, aged 81 years, there had been no death in the family for well over 70 years. Those of the family who still survive, one son and four daughters are aged from 76 to 86 years. Mrs Thomas Hassall, the mother, who died at the age of 92, can be considered an Australian. She was born in the vicinity of Sydney Heads on board the vessel which brought her father, the Rev. Samuel Marsden, and his young wife to Australia in 1794.
