Roland Thomas (Rowley) Farrall (1893–1966)

The death occurred at the Alfred Hospital on Xmas Day of a fine veteran of the Australian labor movement, Mr. Rowley Farrall.

Mr. Farrall, 74, was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World during the First World War, and for many years was well-known as an activist in the Building Workers' Industrial Union.

One of his last public appearances was as a speaker at the rally on October 23 last in Richmond Town Hall which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the 1916 victory in the anti-conscription referendum. This rally heard the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Calwell, denounce the present day conscriptionists and the Vietnam war. Tribune expresses its condolences to his widow Jean, and to all members of the Farrall family.
