Francis Septimus (Frank) Evatt (1898–1918)

News has reached Mrs. J. Evatt, of Carabella-street, Milson's Point, that her son, Gunner Frank [Francis Septimus] Evatt, died of wounds in France on September 29. Gunner Evatt enlisted at 18, and was 20 years of age at the time of his death. He was wounded exactly 12 months prior to his death, but had been continuously with his battery during the last nine months. The deceased was a brother of the late Lieut. Ray S. Evatt, M.C, 20th Battalion, and prior to enlistment was a student at the Medical School of the University, having completed his first year. A younger brother is at the Military College, Duntroon. The three young men were all natives of East Maitland, their father being the late Mr. J. H. Evatt, of that town.
