Richard William Cox (1831–1914)

Richard Cox, n.d.

Richard Cox, n.d.

from Pastoral Review, 16 January 1915

We have to record the death at Mudgee on 11th December, of Mr Richard Wm Cox, second son of the late Edward Cox, of ''Fernhill'', Mulgoa, and grandson of the late Captain Wm Cox, of Clarendon, at the ripe age of 82 years. As citizens of the Nepean District — the early 'habitat' of the Cox family, and as the late Mr Richard. W Cox spent his boyhood at 'Fernhill,' and in the Mulgoa side of the district, his decease is to us as to many others like the breaking of one of the historic human 'links,' which connected the thirties of last century with the 'teens of the present. We desire to express our condolence with the family and relatives of deceased.
