William Derham Clarke (1843–1896)

It is with very much regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr. Willim Derham Clarke, of Lexington, Ararat, and 'Monda,' Hawthorn grove, Hawthorn, Melbourne, at the age of 53 years. He was the surviving son of the late Lewis Clarke, and was one of the most highly-valued country gentlemen and sportsmen in Victoria. Trap shooting was one of his favorite pastimes, and few men were more highly esteemed at the rendezvous of the Melbourne Gun Club, North Brighton, than 'Derham.' By his death a golden link connecting the old school of sportsmen has been severed.
