Mr. Frederick Alfred Carr, of Russell street, Finsbury Park, who had been an official of the Waterside Workers' Federation for 27 years, and resigned from the secretaryship a month ago, died yesterday, aged 58. Mr. Carr was a member of a family that has been prominent in Port Adelaide union circles this century. He was working on the wharf nearly 30 years ago, when he first took an interest in the union. He held various offices, including that of treasurer, but was best known as secretary. His resignation was due to ill-health.
