Elizabeth Burtinshaw (1861–1920)

With reference to the death in Sydney on 11th inst. of Mrs Elizabeth Burtinshaw, briefly announced in Monday's issue, the following further particulars are given:—Deceased was the wife of Inspector Burtinshaw, of the State sectional engineers' staff, P.O., Lismore, and a daughter of Mrs. M. A. Cottee, the Cottee family being one of the early families here. Mrs. Burtinshaw had been associated with Lismore the greater part of her life. Her sisters are Mrs. W. D. Lamotte and Mrs. J. M. Chapman, of Sydney and her brothers Messrs. Spencer, Albert, and George Cottee, Lismore, and William Cottee, Brisbane. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Stephens (Rose Bay), Lena, and Nurse Eadith Burtinshaw, of the Coast Hospital, and four sons, Will, Stanley, and Boyd (Sydney), and Ernest (Young). Her family were all with her, also sisters and another when she died. She leaves a large circle of sorrowing friends, her kindly disposition endearing her to all.
