A fishing party, including Messrs. W. J. Sheehan, Slaughter, and L. Best, with two boys aged twelve and thirteen, sons of Mr. E. A. Bullmore, late of Oakwood, left Sandgate in the boat Penguin on Friday morning, and proceeded across the bay in the direction of Scarborough, from which place they were seen returning on the same afternoon; but as they had not got back by Saturday a search party went out and found Mr. Best clinging to the upturned boat, all the others having been drowned. It is feared that Mr. Best (who is supposed to have been in the water all night) will not recover.
