George Boulton (1792–1862)

An almost universal gloom has been cast over the inhabitants of our town, by the demise of Mr. Boulton, senior, which took place at his residence on the night of Thursday last. The deceased gentleman had been for a number of years a resident at Toowoomba, and his character in social life was the admiration of all who were acquainted with him, as was shown by the very large procession that, in respect to his memory, attended him to his last resting place on Saturday afternoon. Many of the leading families here are thus placed in mourning –Toowoomba Chronicle, Jan. 16.
