Isaac Winn (1852–1934)

The funeral of Mr Isaac Winn took place to Sandgate Cemetery (near Newcastle) yesterday afternoon. Mr Winn, whose death was reported in the late editions of yesterday's Herald occurred at Toronto early this morning was born in Newcastle 82 years ago, and spent practically all his life in the district. In October, 1878, he was associated with his brother in founding the prominent Newcastle firm of Winn and Co. He was a well-known worker for charity and the Methodist Church. Mrs Winn, seven sons, and three daughters survive him. The funeral was preceded by a service at the Newcastle Central Mission, of which Mr Winn was one of the founders.
