BRISBANE BOY KILLED
Dragged by Train
TOOWOOMBA, January 29. Warwick Tuckerman (10) suffered a terrible death to-day, when he was crushed between a train and the platform at the Cambooya station.
The lad had been holidaying with his grandfather, Mr. W. J. Whitman, at Tambo Park station, near Goomburra, and left on to-day's train for Brisbane to return to his grandmother, Mrs. W. J. Whitman, of Ashgrove, Brisbane.
While the train was pulling into Cambooya the boy opened the door of thç carriage, and then apparently slipped, falling between the still moving train and the platform. He was dragged five or ten yards before the train waa stopped. It was found that his chest had been crushed, and he had received other terrible wounds about the head and body. The ambulance took him to Toowoomba General Hospital, where he died at 5 p.m.
A GREAT FAVOURITE.
Warwick Tuckerman for the last two years had been a pupil of the Ithaca Creek State School. He was of a very bright disposition and a great favourite with everybody in the district. His parents, it is understood, are on their way to Perth. The father, Mr. R. Tuckerman, is a well known business man in Sydney.
