Herbert Lindsay Thompson (1863–1903)

Herbert Lindsay Thompson, 40, chief clerk in the Ministerial branch of the Lands Department. Eldest son of the late Lindsay Thompson and brother to Alderman E.L. Thompson and Messrs. W.L. Thompson (solicitor) and O.L. Thompson. He recently accompanied Mr. W. Houston, Land Appeal Court Commissioner, to Norfolk Island, and returned with Sir Harry Rawson from the island in the Royal Arthur, but was prostrated by illness shortly after his arrival home. He leaves a widow and two children.
