Alfred Ernest Swords (1864–1896)

Mr Alfred Ernest Swords, whilst paying a visit to his sister, Mrs Murray, at Mirboo North, was accidentally shot on Monday evening. He was shooting parrots and had returned to the house for more cartridges when his gun accidentally went off, the charge penetrating his brain. An inquest was held and a verdict of accidental death was returned. The body was taken to Dandenong on Tuesday afternoon by train. Deceased's parents reside at Dandenong, his brothers being the proprietors of the Dandenong Advertiser.
