John Charles Strafigos died suddenly in the Children's Hospital on Friday afternoon after having teeth extracted, and no death certificate was forthcoming from the doctor. A post mortem examination was held yesterday morning. The boy had been unable to walk or talk since birth, and to get the best medical attention she could for him, his mother brought him to Brisbane early this month. She consulted nearly a dozen doctors, who informed her that the boy appeared to be suffering from glandular trouble at the back of the neck, or had been injured at birth.
The child indicated to his mother that he was suffering from toothache, and he was admitted to the Children's Hospital on Januury 17 ,to have teeth extracted. On January 19 a slight operation was performed on him to remove some fluid from the brain, and he responded well, and there was no sign of shock.
At 10 o'clock on Friday morning 10 decaying teeth were removed, and he recovered in a few minutes from the anaesthetic, and his condition appeared to be satisfactory. He collapsed and died about 2.30 p.m.
