John Wycliffe Stow (1857–1892)

Our obituary columns this morning announce the death of Mr. John Wycliffe Stow, of the Audit Office, who died somewhat suddenly at the Patients' Home, Adelaide, on Sunday morning, at the age of 35. He was only admitted to the institution on Thursday last, so that his decease will be received both with surprise and regret by his numerous friends. Mr. Stow was a son of Mr. J. P. Stow, S.M., of Mount Gambier, and he entered the Civil Service on June 1, 1875, being appointed to the position he held in the Audit Office on December 1, 1882. Till within a year or so Mr. Stow was a prominent cricketer, being a member of the South Australian Cricketing Association. He leaves a widow. His funeral will leave the Patients' Home on Tuesday morning for the North-road Cemetery.
